Lion’s Return & Earn

Lions Club of Maclean would like to thank the community for supporting Return & Earn over the past three months. During this time over 400,000 items have been collected. We have been blown away with the demand for this service and how great it has been to see some of the familiar faces coming back after our closure before Covid. We would also, like to thank our numerous Friends of Lions volunteers who have given their time, effort, and muscles in helping us out, without all of you, none of this would have been possible.

Unfortunately, we have had to close earlier than anticipated, due to some large drop offs which filled the containers quicker than anticipated and Tomra not being able to supply empty containers any sooner. We ask that those with items to bring to Return and Earn to hold on to them till January 7 when our services will resume.

If you have some spare time and are interested in helping with the Return &Earn activities, please contact Brian Lockhart at 0439 909 506.

I would also like to thank the CV Independent newspaper for publishing my articles throughout the year and to the Cane Growers who came to our rescue and stored our table, chairs and cakes while were selling the raffle tickets during November and December.

On behalf of the Lions Club of Maclean, I would like to wish all the readers a happy and safe Christmas holidays.
