Hot action at Bravehearts

There was a huge turn-out and great conditions for the Stableford event on the first nine holes at Maclean Golf Club last week.

Phil Meek (handicap 14) scoring 22 points, was in top form, one-putting the majority of his 9 holes to card 22 points and take home the Caperberry Cafe $20 meal voucher. Super effort Phil, we hope you can do it again and overcome the three shot penalty your new handicap of 11 has bought you.

In 2nd place Bruce Johnston (handicap 18) 18 points was happy to take home the box of deluxe chocolates. In third place were renewed and refreshed Charlie Allen (dozen free range golf balls) and newbie Allan Downton (Sassafras meal voucher) both capturing 17 points.

Allan was tempted by the fiery chili sauce prize but in the end settled for the sensible Sassafras prize. The offending Dr John sauce has a 9.9 out of 10 rating and even the packaging & label are “Hot”.

NTP’s: 2nd hole at 60cm Gary Taylor (The Italian on the Hill restaurant drinks) and 7th hole Bruce Johnston (Perpetual Biscuit “Barrel”) with his one stroke masterpiece.

There was another amazing event that beggared belief, our weekly draw of “King of Clubs” for the one-hour golf lesson with Pro Paul King was drawn again, two weeks in a row by Dr John Lockwood…. what are the odds? 52 x 17x 52 x 12 = one in 551616…. why hasn’t he won the lotto yet?

Thanks everyone, including our special sponsors, for making Bravehearts a success.

We meet every Tuesday at 8-8.30am and all are welcome to join us. That includes beginners and women.
