Saturday August 8 saw the long-awaited final of the Club Pairs, with the team of Ros Moore, Margaret Durante versus team Helen Atkinson, Chris Cole. Ros and Margaret put up a valiant fight, but it was congratulations to Helen and Chris who came out victorious with a 22-10 lead. Well done Margaret and Ros for a place in the final.

Sunday August 9 saw contenders for the Club Triples taking to the greens with eight teams vying for a spot in the semi-finals played last Saturday August 15. Results are as follows: R. Moore, M. Durante, J. Button d R. Dickson, R. Fletcher, M. Stone 21-14; J. Abbott, J. Scadden, J. Campbell had a close call with J. Pryor, L. Duncan, J. Campbell winning on an extra end – 17-16; P. Conley, V. Terry, G. Davis d S. Lindsay, V. Beddow, J. Pearson 25-13 and in another close call C. Ritale, H. Atkinson, C. Cole d J. Coulter, K. Mason, W. Ballantyne 17 – 15.

Tuesday August 11

Twenty bowlers battled a very stiff breeze today – with five games of pairs. Winners for the day were J. Pearson, J. Campbell who defeated R. Dickson, K. Mason on a countback with a drawn game. Runners-up were L. Duncan, J. Scadden d V. Beddow, C. Ritale and the Consolation went to P. Conley, H. Atkinson d by M. Wall, C. Cole. In other games M. Stone, W. Ballantyne d G. Davis, J. Boyd and M. Abbott, J. Pryor d S. Lindsay, J. Coulter.

Thursday August 13

What a beautiful day – with an air of spring, not a breath of wind and everyone peeling off jackets and other warm gear. Greens were running beautifully – what more could a bowler ask for.
It suited G. Freeman, J. Boyde and M. Stone who took home the winner’s prize, defeating M. Wall, V. Beddow, J. Button. Runners-up were J. Coulter, P. Conley d J. Pearson, R. Fletcher and Consolation went to L. Duncan, H. Atkinson defeated by S. Lindsay, J. Jeans (v).
Other games were M. Durante, J. Abbott, C. Cole d R. Moore, D. Carey (v), C. Ritale and M. Sakac (swinger), M. Abbott, J. Pryor d M. Sakac, J. Doherty, L. Asbury.

This weekend will be the semi-final (Saturday) and the final (Sunday) of the Club Triples. Good luck to all those contenders.
