Grafton CWA Branch

The Grafton Branch held its June monthly meeting Friday 11, with 19 members present and one apology accepted.

Grafton CWA played host to Member for Page MP, Mr Kevin Hogan to announce the government grant to Grafton CWA to upgrade our seventy-year-old Kitchen. Morning tea was served, and our grateful members thanked Mr Hogan for the funding. Hopefully, work will begin soon in time for Jacaranda Morning Tea which CWA members cater for. The CWA rooms are used by other groups in the community and will benefit from the upgrading of the kitchen.

CWA will also be catering for morning tea and hiring rooms for Tele Cross in July. Members will be providing sandwiches, slices, tea and coffee.

North Coast Group meeting was held at the Connect Church South Grafton. Grafton CWA branch catered for the morning tea, South Grafton CWA Evening branch were also selling raffle tickets for the box of fruit and vegetables and trading table items that were for sale.

The 100-year celebration is underway and bookings for the function which will be held at Randwick racecourse are being taken for accommodation in Bondi Junction; 50 members have already applied, and deposits will be taken.

Facts Day will be held in Maclean Saturday June 26, leadership training will be held on a Saturday once a year. Positions are available for three-year term, regime of previous positions held is required for those applying for a new position.

Our next meeting will be held in our Duke Street rooms Friday July 9, with morning tea being served at 9.30am and the meeting to commence at 10am. Any ladies wishing to join us will be made welcome.

Handicraft mornings are held 2nd and 4th Monday at 9.30am at our Duke Street Rooms. Bring your handicraft and come and join us for fellowship and morning tea and a chat.
