Grafton Bridge Club

Grafton teams put on strong performances at Thursday’s interclub competition against Yamba. Grafton teams were placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd across the field of 12 tables, ensuring the inaugural Jacaranda Bowl trophy was retained. Yamba’s top team (Annie Green, Margaret Lawrence, Judy Turnbull and Sheila Monie) secured 4th place.

Prizes, made available by our host venue the GDSC, were presented to both the top Grafton and Yamba team. Mark Miller from Ballina oversaw play as the visiting event director.

Bob Northam said the day presented some learning opportunities for Grafton players who mostly play pairs format. Playing teams format was a new experience for some of our players. Yamba club president Tracy Harris said coming together with the shared goals of playing good bridge and having fun, were achieved and Yamba will host a visit by Grafton members later in the year.

Stepbridge

The club’s usual Tuesday evening online (Stepbridge) event had 12 pairs participating and results were:

  1. Helyn Davison and Julie Pearson; 2. Nettie Bennett and Neil Nagle; 3. Wendy Doyle and Jill Cox.
