Last weekend July 9-10 saw the staging of the Zone 1 South District Pairs for 2022. \

The GDSC Mens Bowling Club was represented in all three divisions, the Open Pairs, the Senior Pairs, and the Reserve Pairs with our teams attempting to qualify for the Zone 1 Pairs play-offs at South Lismore Bowling Club on August 27-28. Unfortunately, our teams in the Opens & Reserve Pairs Divisions (played at Yamba & Maclean respectively), ran into some tough opposition, and were unsuccessful in qualifying, however our Seniors team of Gary Harrison & Allan Knox have qualified by defeating Trevor Bardsley & Bob Ballentine from Yamba B.C. in their semi final 21 shots to 18. Well done boys, and the club wishes you both all the best in the Zone 1 pairs play-offs in a couple of months’ time.

In social bowls results last week, we had 26 players for our Wednesday pairs, with the winners on the day being Gary Harrison & Keith Garner; runners-up went to John Stacey, Alex Morrison & Greg Taylor, while Ivan Beverley & Ben Gaardsted won the Consolation prize.
