Another good turn out with all players enjoying fabulous conditions at Maclean Country Golf Club last Tuesday playing a Stableford event on the first nine holes. According to local gossip, the greens are rating 11 on the Stint Meter… that’s fast…. Augusta is supposedly rated at around 13 so I guess we are competing in professional conditions on the greens!
Fantastic work Greenies.
Now on with the report… The happy winner, with a great score of 20 points, was ‘The Rake’, John Hopkins snaring and sharing the large box of chocolates. In second place was stalwart Mike Rogers with 19 hard earned points. He was awarded the bottle of Cab/Merlot to party on. Third equal were Bruce Johnston and Gary Taylor with 16 points (Yamba Cinema pass and Caperberry Cafe $20 meal voucher respectively).
Nearest the pins were claimed by ‘The Rake’ and Rod Dee taking the Tartan Pizza and The Italian on the hill Restaurant prizes.
Everyone else were offered a dozen free range reclaimed golf balls so all went home content with their morning’s sunny exercise.
Now the handicapper has made things a little more difficult for all of these front runners, so we look forward to some fresh names here next week and hopefully more improvement by all.
The least number of putts was made by Garry T (14 putts) and he was awarded a pat on the back as he has had too many wins lately.
Well done all, and make sure you rug up for the next Tuesday game at MCGC tee-off 8.30 – 9am. Bring a friend, plenty of room for more players and plenty of prizes to go around.
