Fantastic Osprey RSL Day Club

Well, my goodness, what a great roll up on Friday; 53 eager smiling faces seeking out old and new friends, and 8 apologies received.

It was always my ambition to reach the 50-membership level, but to have reached 61 is simply fantastic. As I have said before “we must be doing something right”. Please continue to bring along friends who may wish to join, and visitors who will be most welcome and spoiled on the day.

Joan F brought her sister Nancy along on Friday which was wonderful. We also welcomed Geraldine, Joan S, Peter L and Graham to the fold. It was so nice to meet you all, and we sincerely hope you enjoyed the day sufficiently enough to return next week. It was a little bit chaotic as most first days back are, and our tables were not arranged in their normal configuration with 6 people at each table, but the Club had a function to set up for after ours. We realise it is much cosier with single tables, and much more conducive to conversation, playing games and safety… and much better for you to stretch out and exercise. Next week should see normality return.

I trust you all enjoyed your beaut cake for morning tea, and the fish and chips with salad for lunch. Many thanks to the kitchen staff who go out of their way to meet our needs in such a courteous and friendly manner.

Now the ever-popular raffle results:

1st prize wine or candy was won by Bev F. Guess what she chose?

2nd prize a free day pass to Pat M; 3rd prize a free day pass to Pat D; 4th Prize was a mini hamper bag to Dawn K.

First day back prizes were 3 tins of chocolate which were won by Barb J, David P and Sean M.

And just as an aside, me who never wins anything, won not one, but two games of Bingo. Yep. Tomato sauce and Cruskits! Left the Tim Tams for the girls on table one.

Please ring Leanne on 0413 101 518 if you would like to join our fabulous club. There is always room for those seeking fun and friendship.

That’s all folks.
