In this country we’re big on fairness, the fair go and everyone getting a say. But this argument about the Voice giving First Nation communities “special treatment” based on race? Really? The only ethnic group over-represented in shocking statistics for health, imprisonment, life expectancy and suicide are First Nations People.

As for special treatment: the government listens to over 30 reference groups. We don’t hear anyone jumping up and down about big businesses and the mining lobby, and they have the ears of government big time. If you believe that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be listened to on issues that affect them and their families, then please vote Yes!
