Donations are music to their ears

Clarence Valley residents are being encouraged to donate any musical instruments in good second-hand condition, or unplayable (specifically guitars), to the Australian Children’s Music Foundation (ACMF) community drive in support of youths in detention.

The instruments will be utilised as part of the ACMF’s free ongoing music program and arts development courses, which support disadvantaged youths around the country.

The program is currently being held at the Acmena Juvenile Justice Centre in South Grafton and is aimed at mentoring young men and expanding their opportunities, confidence, and resilience through the power of music and creativity.

The ACMF believe in using music as an outlet which allows troubled youths in detention to express themselves in a positive way, and it encourages participants to learn new skills and engage with one another and their teachers in a cooperative environment which enhances their self-esteem and their ability to make a positive contribution to society.

Donations can be delivered to Living Life FM103.1 AT 91 Fitzroy Street, Grafton, during opening hours.
