A DA has been lodged with the NSW Department of Planning by Clarence Valley Council to demolish the Community Centre at 24 Treelands Drive at Yamba.

The Yamba Community Precinct project, with a capital investment value of $10,151,000 for the demolition of existing Community Centre, construction of a new Community Facility, ancillary library, car parking and associated landscaping, was referred by council to the NRPP. 

Coincidentally or not, CVC last week announced a Community Information Session on design preferences for the Yamba Community Precinct would be held at the same time the NRPP will be meeting.

The Yamba Community Action Network (CAN) said enquiries about the Community Information Sessions revealed they were only advertised on social media, not on council’s website, therefore excluding people who don’t use social media.
