Home to some of the area’s most precious treasures and family mementos, the Copmanhurst Museum is open to the public once again.

Managed by a small committee of volunteers who are dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of their rural community, the museum is located at the former business address of saddler Bert Layton in Prescott Street and has recently welcomed several artefacts from the former Church of the Holy Apostles in Copmanhurst, which closed in 2021, into its collection.

Also on display in the museum are an assortment of historical photos, saddles and bridles, vintage utensils, and clothing which has been generously donated by local families dating back to the early 1900s.

The Copmanhurst Museum is open between 1-3pm on the fourth Sunday of each month, or by appointment by calling 0478 239 274.

Entry is via gold coin donation.
