Last Friday at Yamba Golf Course was a hive of activity with 52 ladies playing in the 2022 The Scramble. The weather could not have been any better and everyone, regardless of their result, returned to the clubhouse with a smile. With Callaway being the major 2022 sponsors, all players received two sleeves of Callaway balls for entering. As usual, it was a great day and talk of next year’s entries could already be heard in the Golfers’ Lounge after Presentation. It’s always a highlight on our golfing calendar.
This year’s winners were Heather Purtill (Grafton), Janette Blair (Yamba), Sue Petty (Grafton) and Nadene Carroll (Yamba) who scored a fabulous 61.62 net. This winning team won themselves a beautiful Callaway golf bag each and the opportunity to play in the Regional finals. Well done and congratulations from us all. Following closely behind with a score of 62.5 net and winning a Callaway golf umbrella and a sleeve of Callaway balls each, was the Maclean team – Kim Wiblen, Rhoda Pedrana, Diane Moore and Sandra Youlton. A great result. Yamba ladies, Tina Louise-Downes, Lyn Saggers, Ann Schuhmacher and Suzie Prosser (64.25) came home in 3rd place. For their efforts, they won a Callaway drink bottle and a sleeve of Callaway balls. Well done.
A big thank you goes to David and Julie Grant who sponsored the 10th NTP with their generous donation of a bottle of 2012 MOET. Congratulations to the Purtill/Blair/Petty/Carroll team for their win on this hole.
Other NTP winners included: Kathy Parker, Jane Bonner, Kim Wiblen’s team, Purtill team and Julie Grant.
Many thanks also go to Yamba Golf and Country Club, Jamie Corkill and the Yamba Pro Shop team for hosting the event and the very best wishes go to Heather, Janette, Sue and Nadene in their Regional finals round.
