Changed traffic conditions on Old Glen Innes Road at Bawden Bridge

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions next week on the Old Glen Innes Road about 16 kilometres west of Grafton to carry out routine inspection work on Bawden Bridge.

The bridge will be intermittently closed to all traffic on Tuesday 31 August for up to 15 minutes at a time while a specialised truck-mounted platform is used to inspect timber elements below the deck, ensuring the bridge remains in a safe and reliable condition for motorists.

To minimise impact to motorists, work will be carried out between 8.30am and 2.30pm, outside of peak hours, and is expected to be complete in one shift, weather permitting.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
