Call for applications – new Local Land Services Board Chair Needed

Local Land Services is calling on passionate, innovative and highly experienced individuals to apply for the vacant Chair position of the Local Land Services Statewide Board.

Applications are now open and will close at 5pm, Sunday, 9 May 2021.  Local Land Services Director Carolyn Raine said recruiting a diverse range of strong candidates is essential.  “The Statewide Chair plays a pivotal role at Local Land Services,” Ms Raine said. “They will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and vision of the organisation, while working closely with the chairs of our 11 local boards.

“The successful candidate will thrive providing constructive and cohesive guidance to the organisation, ensuring the delivery of our local services meet the needs of landholders across NSW.”  “After bushfires, drought and floods, landholders have a long road to recovery, so it is important our organisation is in the best strategic position to not only provide support, but help grow agricultural productivity and healthy environments.”

Local Land Services is governed by a Statewide Board, comprised of the Statewide Chair and the chairs of 11 local boards. The position was made vacant after long-serving Chair of the Local Land Services Statewide Board, Richard Bull, retired earlier this month.

Ms Raine said Local Land Services strives to have a board that reflects modern agriculture, and hopes to attract a wide range of candidates who can help guide the organisation. “We are encouraging candidates from all walks of life to apply, who can help set the strategic direction of Local Land Services for years to come,” Ms Raine said.

In line with the Local Land Services Board succession plan, the Chair of the Local Land Services Statewide Board is set for up to four years.  To download the recruitment package, with further information about the role, and to apply, visit the Local Land Services website – www.lls.nsw.gov.au/chair-recruitment
