Bravehearts were in action again last Tuesday November 23, playing a Stableford event on the Maclean golf course on the second nine holes.
We had more happy winners as the greens had recovered somewhat from their annual maintenance and the putters had more success. One in particular, Louise Horan, who was a first timer, almost managed a clean sweep taking home the prizes for first place (28 points) and NTP on the 11th hole. Her booty included bottle of Champers, half a dozen free-range golf balls and Italian on the Hill Restaurant drinks voucher. Super result Louise, do it again next week!
Coming home in second place was Linda Goodwin with 25 points and in third place were Kim Pye & John Hopkins with 24 points each. Nearest the pin on the 17th was Clem Rhoden, great shot Clem, a few centimetres from an Ace, was it? Prizes included Yamba Cinema passes, a packet of Christmas shortbreads, red wine and Caperberry Restaurant $20 meal ticket, as well as Margies’ tomato pickles. Obviously, the packets of sweets dished out before commencement of play enabled these players to perform beyond expectations.
A quick aside, Braves players rescued an owlet being attacked by other wildlife and Wires have put it back up the tree into its hole. I wonder if the Channel-billed Cuckoo left an egg there before it kicked the Owlet out?
You’re welcome to join us at Bravehearts on Tuesdays for a great morning entertainment at Maclean GC, 8.30 – 9am tee off, everyone welcome.
