Be ‘a good sport’ and talk to the government

The NSW Government is developing a plan to improve the delivery of grassroots local sport over the next five years and Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis wants locals to have their say. “We’ve had some good local wins, most recently with a $274,000 grant for the mighty Casino Bulls Rugby League Club,” Mr Gulaptis said. “The Government also this year launched its $100 per child Active Kids sports voucher scheme, which has just been expanded to include creative pursuits like the arts and languages.” “We love our sports in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys and the NSW Government is prepared to back that passion with cold hard cash. We just have to tell them what we want.” Mr Gulaptis said the idea of the Sports Plan was to boost grass roots sport participation across the region by providing targeted sports program and facility development for all community members to enjoy. “This is an important first step in the process of gathering community feedback to ensure that we invest in the right mix of sports facilities that meet the needs of unique communities,” Mr Gulaptis said.
