Open Minor Pairs final
Down to the nitty-gritty of the Open Minor Pairs and it was certainly a game which kept spectators on their toes as Kathy and Chris Gunning battled it out with Tim Arndell and Gary Morehead. Gary and Tim managed to keep their noses ahead until Kathy and Chris picked up 4 shots on the 13th and 14th end levelling the score. From then on it was a game of tit-for-tat with some remarkable bowls played by all players. Going into the last end the Gunning’s were 2 ahead but Gary and Tim were not giving in easily. At the finish of the end Gary was holding 2 shots to draw and could see victory if he could remove one of Chris’s bowls from the equation – he then played the perfect bowl to make his score 3 and take the game. Congratulations to all players on wonderful play befitting a final. Tim Arndell and Gary Morehead Open Minor Pairs Champions 2023.
Thanks to all umpire and officials throughout the competition.
