Grafton CWA Branch

The Grafton CWA Branch held its July monthly meeting Friday July 9 with 14 members present and five apologies were accepted. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, mandatory chair placements were enforced, no singing of the National Anthem, also face masks were worn during meeting procedure.

A report was given on the North Coast Group meeting held on June 16. Thank-you to all the Grafton members who assisted with morning tea and cooking for this meeting.

Fact’s day was held in Maclean Saturday June 26. Members attending this meeting were informed by group representatives on the structure of CWA and the responsibilities for making decisions. All members are part of the of the CWA team and we are responsible to our association. CWA Grafton must encourage all new members to attend Fact’s days, also if attending State Conference. Workshops are made available on different topics which are of benefit to all members in our branch to become effective leaders, and we as members mentoring new members.

An invitation was sent from Maclean CWA branch for their 90th Birthday on Wednesday August 4 and four members will be attending a morning tea celebration.

Next meeting will be held Friday August 13, and the cooking item will be plain shortbread.

Craft mornings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 9.30am at our Duke Street rooms. Bring along your handicraft items and join us for a morning of fellowship and morning tea and a chat.
