The Grafton Jacaranda Festival Committee is thrilled to announce nominations for 2024 Jacaranda candidates, Junior Jacaranda candidates, and Matron of Honour are now open.

As the oldest floral festival in Australia prepares to celebrate its 90th anniversary this year, Clarence Valley residents are being encouraged to raise their hands, nominate themselves, and be part of one of the most celebrated social events in the country.

2023 Jacaranda King, Toby Power, said being a Jacaranda candidate last year was an incredible honour, and an amazing experience which has rewarded him with lifelong friendships and memories.

“I’m so proud of myself for nominating,” he recalled.

“To have the opportunity to represent my local community, to be involved with the Grafton Jacaranda Festival and help to promote the event, and to inspire others to want to be involved in it as well, it’s such a great feeling.

“I would encourage anyone and everyone to definitely give it a go.

“Don’t be shy, just do it.”

Jacaranda candidates and Junior Jacaranda candidates are open to all gender identities aged between 18 and 30, and 12 to 14.
