Worldly assistance

When Gathering of Worlds store owner, Adam Ackland, saw on Facebook that the wife of one of his regular customer’s was suffering debilitating and expensive-to-manage medical conditions, he decided to do something to help.

“When I learnt about Georgia’s medical condition on Facebook, I saw her brother, Cameron, was selling some of his artworks to raise money,” Mr Ackland said.

“Huge thanks to everyone who has donated, attended our event and helped out this weekend,” he wrote on the store’s FB site.

“At the end of the auction today we reached a total of $968 to be donated to Georgia Blanch, to help with her medical costs.

“Gathering of Worlds will be adding another $32 on top, to round the total to $1,000 raised.”

Mr Ackland said people can still make a donation at his store or call him on 0488 138 118 for more information.

Ms Blanch’s brother, Cameron, was unavailable for comment before the newspaper’s deadline.
