Twelve new probationary constables have joined the growing ranks of police enforcing law and order across the Clarence and Richmond Valleys, Clarence Nationals MP Richie Williamson has announced.
“Six officers have been assigned to the Coffs/Clarence District and six with the Richmond District, which serves the Richmond Valley as well as the Lismore, Kyogle and Ballina local government areas,” Mr Williamson said.
“These new recruits are joining the outstanding team of police officers who serve the people of the Richmond and Clarence Valleys with pride and who go above and beyond every day to keep our communities safe.
“Policing can be a dangerous and challenging job and we are indebted to all our police officers for putting their lives on the line as they serve with distinction.
“I thank our new officers for the vital frontline work they will be undertaking. We are indeed indebted to them for stepping up to protect and serve members of our community.
Mr Williamson said these new probationary constables are in addition to the record 1500 increase in NSW Police that we saw under the former Liberal and Nationals Government during its last term.
The new recruits were due to report to their respective stations for duty on Monday, May 1 where they will complete their first year of on-the-job-training.
