Tuesday Braves action

The weather held long enough last Tuesday week for the Bravehearts at Maclean golf course to enjoy cool crisp stroll, playing Stableford on the second nine holes.

The top scorers were Linda Goodwin (h/cap 45) and Trevor Wright (h/cap 14) with 18 points each. Linda received three new golf balls and Trevor took home the travel hot/cold Thermos bottle. On his own in third place was Wayne Nunn who managed to join us on a day off from work. He was awarded the fabulous “Dwarfs of Golf” beer holder donated by Linda Goodwin.

Nearest to the pins were claimed by Trevor, a magnificent long iron on the deceptive 2nd hole and Marilyn Hopkins slotted a beauty on the 7th to take home the box of deluxe chocolate biscuits.

Trev also won the first “Par-Buster” prize with three pars but as he won too many prizes, he donated the Sassafras meal voucher back to the prize box. Thanks Trev. You’re playing sublime golf at last.

Kim Pye chipped in a 30-metre shot on the 5th hole to win some free-range golf ball for her practice kit. Excellent shot Kim, they make you jump for joy, don’t they?

Lowest total of putts, for the 9 holes, carded by Gary Taylor (16) who took home Yamba Cinema pass.

Thanks to all our generous sponsors including Yamba Cinema, Sassafras Restaurant, Caperberry Cafe and The Italian on the Hill Restaurant.

Next Tuesday, weather permitting, we will be playing again at MGC at 8.45 am. so bring a friend and join us for some easy-going golf.
