Six new probationary constables will be deployed in the Police Districts enforcing law and order in the Richmond and Clarence Valleys following today’s Attestation ceremony of Class 359 at the Goulburn Police Academy, Clarence Nationals MP Richie Williamson has announced.
Coffs/Clarence will receive two new officers while the Richmond District which includes the Richmond Valley local government area will receive four new officers.
“I welcome the new recruits to the NSW Police Force family and am delighted they will be joining the local ranks here in the Richmond and Clarence valleys,” Mr Williamson said.
“These officers are joining an outstanding team of police officers who serve the people of the Richmond and Clarence valleys with pride and who go above and beyond every day keeping our communities safe.
“Policing can be a dangerous and challenging job and we are indebted to all our police offers for putting their lives on the line as they serve with distinction.”
Mr Williamson said the new probationary constables follow on from over a dozen others who joined the local Police Districts he represents back in April. They are in addition to the record 1500 increase in NSW Police that we saw under the former Liberal and Nationals Government during its last term.
The new recruits will report to their respective stations for work next Monday and will then complete 12 months on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.
