It was a shame that the ladies had a wash-out the week before last, as last Thursday in very warm weather, was the final week of the full rounds of the competition for the year.
Unfortunately, Neill’s and Harrington’s teams had play without their number three players, and so first and second ladies ended playing each other only twice. The scores being Neill’s (30 games, having the 5 sets) and Harrington’s were only able to win (9 games, and 1 set). In the other match the results were, Donovan’s team (30 games, 4 sets), had a win over McAulay’s team (22 games, 2 sets). The ladies certainly enjoy the social aspect of their competitions, so will always welcome any player wishing for some great tennis, from the finals until the end of the year.
Donovan’s team head the competition with 76 points, followed by McAulay’s 74 points, then Neill’s 63 points, Woodrow’s 62 points and last of all Harrington’s 26 points. So, the teams for this Thursday’s semi-finals will be Donovan’s to play McAulay’s and Neill’s against Woodrow’s. Good luck to all the ladies.
