Local Grafton Multi Class S14 Jamie Plunkett, just 17 years old smashed it out of the water last week from the 1st to the 4th of October at the Inaugural National Country Swimming Championships that was held at Parap Swimming Pool in Darwin N.T.
Darwin was host to more than 400 young Australian swimmers who came from all over the Country to swim at the 4 day event.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for younger swimmers aged 12 to 18 years to compete at a higher level than they may have done previously.
Jamie is a member of the Grafton’s Amature Swimming Club and has been now for 7 years since moving to Grafton. The Club will now look to continue running the club nights on Thursday evenings at South Grafton Pool to support up and comming swimmers like Jamie for the 2022/2023 season.
Despite the intense heat, humidity, and afternoon storms who dosn’t love the N.T build up.
Jamie came home with a total of 10 medals out of the 10 events that she raced.
