So the NSW government has failed to provide essential maintenance for regional roads: Government fails to deliver on regional roads promise to Northern Rivers communities – (Clarence Valley Independent -clarencevalleynews.com.au) Great to see this failure highlighted in your paper, as a glance at community Facebook pages will tell you this issue is top of mind and infuriating for many road users.

It is astounding to find that promises made by the NSW Government in 2019 to transfer regional roads from local government to state government for maintenance have not been delivered.

I regularly travel on some of the roads listed and can confirm they are in desperate need of attention. Many local streets in our villages and towns are full of potholes that are patched then reappear with the next downpour.

The NSW Government should honour their commitment to our growing region. Fires, floods and dangerous roads; are we just too far from Sydney to be heard?
