Grevillea Waters ‘Cancer Care 2022’ donations

Grafton and Lismore Hospital’s Cancer Care Units each received $4,200 thanks to the fundraising work of the Grevillea Waters Community and their Cancer Care Committee.

Norelle McIntyre, Nurse Unit Manager for Oncology Haematology Unit and Specialist Care at Grafton thanked the local community for their support. “We are so proud of our community supporters who make a difficult time much easier for the people who come to the Grafton Oncology Unit.”

The Northern NSW Cancer Care Institute at Lismore Hospital is going to put their $4,200 of funds “towards an improved entertainment/call buzzer for each of the chairs in the chemotherapy unit, this will improve the patient experience in our unit” said Nurse Unit Manager Nick Allen.

In 2023 the goal will be $10,000 and fundraising has been continuing throughout the year with a variety of activities aiming to maximise income for next year’s donation. The Grevillea Waters Cancer Care Committee is only able to do this great work due to generosity of the business community of Yamba. Over 60 businesses sponsored the fund-raising events by donating goods, services, or vouchers for use as prizes in our fundraising events. A BIG thankyou is extended to all the local Yamba businesses for the support of this great cause.
