What a huge success our Mothers Day Morning Tea event was earlier this month, raising over $5500 to purchase equipment for our Grafton Hospital.
Thank you to all those who attended, hope you enjoyed the morning and were lucky enough to take home a prize.
Our lucky ticket winners of our major raffle were; 1st prize – painting by Michelle Worley (ticket number J 27280), 2nd prize – $50 gift vouchers donated by Coles, Woolworths & Bunnings (K39282), 3rd prize – 4-piece cookware set donated by GDSC (K39066), 4th prize – Necklace by Divanix (K 39608), 5th prize – Dan Murphy’s voucher (K39719). All prizes were delivered to some very happy winners. Also thank you to Chemist Warehouse, Krisrie Watts Hair Salon, Cignall South Grafton, Village Green Hotel, and UHA members Annemarie Millea and Elizabeth Taplin for your donation of prizes for the in-house raffle and lucky door.
Winner of the oldest and youngest mother were Norma Merlino and Rachael Sheather, and the flower auction was closely contested but the highest bidders were John Sanderson and Michelle Worley, again these flowers were donated by Benefields Roses, thank you so much.
Our MC for the morning was Ray Smith and what an excellent job he did, our entertainer was the talented Kim Connor, just beautiful.
The room looked amazing thanks to Carol from Something Special Weddings, Midday Rotary men, thank you, always ready to lend us a hand.
The morning tea spread was delicious, what an amazing team of UHA members we have, best homemade cakes, slices, scones and sandwiches!
We would like to thank Wooli Hotel Social Club for their donation of $1000 from their raffles, also thank you Emma from Southside Pharmacy who recently donated and ran an Easter raffle in her shop and donated the proceeds of $500 to the UHA.
Moving forward this Saturday May 27, the Grafton Tigers Football & Netball Club have kindly chosen us to receive the donations from their charity tins at their Trivia Night to be held at the GDSC. Also, we will be catering for the Grafton Linedancers Workshop & Social on June 17. We have been thrilled by these opportunities from the community to help us raise funds to purchase equipment for the Grafton Base Hospital.
Our next monthly meeting is on Wednesday May 24 at GDSC commencing at 1.30pm, always looking for volunteers, anyone interested your welcome to join us for a cuppa.
