Karl Rubli is ‘Artist of the Month’ for March.
Karl has been living with art and craft all his life and started drawing and painting in his younger years in Switzerland. He has attended various art schools and courses in different countries and in 2005 he retired to Australia which has allowed him ample time to draw, sculpt and carve for pleasure.
Timber is his favoured medium and he has a distinctive style of clean and simple lines and finishes, subtly using the wood grain and colours to emphasise the natural form and contours of his subjects. He draws his inspiration from natural elements and lovingly creates unique and tactile pieces. “It is fulfilling to find new, beautiful lines, shapes and forms” says Karl.
Lower Clarence Arts and Crafts Association Inc (LCACA) is a not-for-profit community organisation promoting and showcasing artisans of the Clarence Valley. Ferry Park Gallery is on Big River Way, and easily accessed from the Maclean Interchange on the Pacific Motorway. The Gallery has a COVID safety plan and is open 7 days from 9am – 4pm.
