How do feel about making new friendships, or renewing old acquaintances? The VIEW Club is your answer. It is a unique organisation which meets each month to include lunch and an interesting guest speaker. By attending these meetings, you help support disadvantaged children with the Learning for Life Program. To find more information about VIEW, there is a website called www.thesmithfamily.com.au
At the July meeting Shirley Chambers received her membership badge and was warmly welcomed into the Grafton VIEW Club.
This month the guest speaker was Suzanne Gibson, who spoke about the Grafton Historical Society, and what is available in researching family history. Suzanne joined the society 34 years ago and works many hours identifying and sorting historical facts. The Historical Society is housed in Schaeffer House with a Museum & Research Room. It is the headquarters of the Clarence Historical Society. Suzanne said that a great deal of historic information on the Clarence and its people can be found at the Clarence River Historical Society.
The lucky door prize was won by Pat Henry, and the raffle went to Betty Caldwell.
Next mid-month outing will be held on Wednesday August 11 at 10am for morning tea at the Whitehouse in Prince Street.
The August VIEW Club meeting will be on Tuesday August 24 at the Grafton District Services Club, Mary Street Grafton, commencing at 10.30am. The guest speaker will be Helen Dobra, who will talk about how Bowen Therapy treats a cause and not a symptom. So, you are warmly welcome to come along and enjoy friendship and a lovely lunch with the motivated guest speaker. At the same time, you will support children in need.
Please phone Vorna at 6642 4719 for catering purposes, no later than the Friday before the meeting. See you there
