As per Judy’s request, and at everyone else’s delegation, here’s my take on the weekend.
As usual, I went to Glenreagh on Wednesday, and had it all to myself until Friday. The weather was pretty good up until then, but the heavens opened at dawn, with much thunder and lightning, with only 5mm rain recorded to 0900hrs. When the other four vans arrived, it continued to sprinkle, with a strong breeze, making it all very not nice.
Carla was upset that not enough women were there to play games, but we all had a good chinwag.
Saturday morning was cloudy but cleared with no rain. Nearly everybody went down to the markets and helped out the local charities greatly. The bakery also copped a fair hammering.
We all went down to The Golden Dog Hotel Bistro, and thoroughly enjoyed a typical country pub meal, served by very friendly staff. We spent the rest of the day either curled up like a snake hibernating with a full belly or basking in the sun.
At happy hour on Saturday, we were joined by Stephen and Dorothy, friends of one of our members, and members of the North Coast Caravan Club waiting for the rest of their members to turn up to stay for a week.
The raffles went ahead with everyone contributing something to the raffle, but Marjorie had to call “Redraw” about five times after winning twice.
Sunday broke to a beautiful clear day, but freezing cold, down to 4c and windy, but it warmed up and we all casually had morning tea, cleaned up the kitchen, packed up ourselves, and left to go our various ways.
Looking forward to seeing people at Ebor next month.
