The team at Connect You Too (Connectu2) has been busy adjusting to multiple changes due to lock downs and border restrictions whilst still helping the community get out and about during September 2021. It has been great assisting our customers get to their important appointments or just do their shopping and we have been grateful for their assistance due to last minute doctor cancellations and pass requirements constantly changing.

During the month of September 2021, we did a total of 1607 trips with a total of 83,402kms. Our popular destinations included 48 trips to Ballina; 91 trips to Coffs Harbour; 8 trips to the Gold Coast; 645 trips to Grafton; 158 trips to Lismore and 220 trips to the Yamba/Maclean area.

Even in these hard times, we still managed to get the community to 327 specialist appointments; 165 hospital visits (Day Surgery drop off/pick-up); 217 GP appointments; 6 dentist appointments & 410 shopping trips.

Unfortunately, Connectu2 has had to modify their planned social trip in October with the Op Shop tour to Casino, Lismore and Ballina to only now visit Ballina due to the current stay at home orders. We look forward to the next one in November, with a visit to the Tullymorgan Ostrich Farm and lunch at the Lawrence Pub – call 6645 3200 to book your seat – you can bring a friend and only pay $5 each for the bus.

Our Meals on Wheels service based in Iluka delivered 156 meals and 59 desserts during the month of September 2021. We were able to do welfare checks, have a quick chat and help our customers see a friendly face (even with our masks on).
