Clarence Community Transport has recently undergone a change of names and is now known as ‘Connect You Too’.
‘Connect You Too’ CEO Warwick Foster said that the name change came about, because the organisation had grown too large to be registered with NSW Fair Trading and was required to be registered under ASIC.
“The only thing that’s has changed (from our end) is the name change and all our financial requirements are reported now to ASIC,” Warwick said.
“We changed the name to ‘Connect You Too’,because that is what we do – we connect you to all of our other services – Clarence Community Transport, Iluka Meals on Wheels, Yamba Airport Shuttle, Clarence Eats etc, so that’s how the name came about.
“We’ve still got all the same staff and it’s still run by the community. Nothing has changed in the service provision or delivery; it was just purely around that name change.
“Currently we have around 35 paid staff and around 80 volunteers, who help within the organisation.
“We are still a not for profit charitable organisation and still appreciate people assisting us with donations, which is really important to us.
“Recently, we employed a business development officer who is currently looking at ways in which we can provide better services, with a long term focus on any other business opportunities that are potentially out there, within the scope of what we currently do,” he said.
Mr Foster said that they would be aiming at securing more commercial operations in an effort to become less reliant on government funding.
“This would allow us to provide services to a wider range of people, because any money that the organisation makes through its commercial enterprises doesn’t have government funding criteria attached to it,” he said.
