Community Involvement is Key to the Port of Yamba Yacht Club’s success

The success of any club relies on the strength and support of its community, and the Port of Yamba Yacht Club is no exception. Right now, we are looking for more boats and people to join us on the water.
Last Wednesday, the weather was rough – rain, strong winds, and big swells. It would have been an exhilarating but challenging day on the water. Unfortunately, with the weather turning sour, not all our skippers or crew were keen to head out into the weather, and our Wednesday race sadly didn’t go ahead.
For many of us, the Wednesday race is the highlight of our week. Some are so passionate about it that they’ve structured their work schedules around the race, ensuring they’re free every Wednesday. Not everyone has that luxury, and we’ve had quite a few inquiries about weekend sailing so …. NEWS FLASH!  Back by popular demand – Sunday races, starting this month on October 27 and then on the last Sunday of every month, as well as continuing our Sunday social sails. So come join in the fun, visitors can sail with us up to 3 times on a Sail Pass for only $15 per sail, then if you’re having as much fun as we do, sign up as a member for club discounts on sailing events, drinks, social and music events.
On the social side, don’t forget about Friday night drinks, starting at 5pm with daylight savings in full swing. It’s a perfect way to unwind after work, enjoy the sunset, and catch up with friends. Drinks are affordable, and members get even cheaper prices!
Our Potluck Dinner is on the first Sunday of every month, and we’re planning more live music events next year.
Whether you’re looking to race, socialise, or support your local community, there are many ways to get involved in the Port of Yamba Yacht Club. Check out our social media and website for more details, and we look forward to welcoming you aboard for one of our upcoming sailing, social or music events.
