Lightly raced three-year-old gelding Betcha The Crown scored a resounding win in the 2023 Tursa Grafton Guineas Quality over 1600m on July 12.

Backing up an impressive win over 1526m at Lismore last month, the striking son of Casino Prince was solid in the market at 6/1 and attracted plenty of interest from punters.

Jumping from barrier 1, Betcha The Crown settled just off the speed for jockey James Orman before bursting through the middle of the field in the home straight, scooting clear to win by 1.25 lengths from the race favourite Crafty Eagle.

Gallic Fox at 90/1 ran third.

Trained at Eagle Farm by Desleigh Forster, who said she was extremely happy to train a winner during the 2023 XXXX July Racing Carnival, Betcha The Crown has raced six times for three wins and two minor placings.

His triumph last week took his career earnings over $100000.

“I was very confident going into the race,” Forster said.

“My only concern was the track was playing towards the leaders, but everything worked out perfectly, and this is a great win for the owner and breeder of this horse Dale Miller who was trackside today.”

Forster said she will take Betcha The Crown home to Queensland and give him a freshen up before deciding on his next outing.
