Yamba’s young athletes will have the opportunity to attend a specialised Speed & Agility clinic when elite level sprints coach and former Sydney Roosters NRL and Newcastle Jets A-League premiership winning sprints & conditioning coach Paul Nancarrow is in town during the April school holidays.
Paul, who has also previously coached the NSW state team and the Taiwanese Athletics team has started up a company called Fit For Sport who provide speed & athletic development for junior athletes was invited along by the Yamba Buccaneers Rugby Club and will conduct the 2-hr clinic at Kane Douglas Rugby Field.
The clinic has been generously opened up for all sports to attend, with soccer, basketball, netball and both rugby codes among those to have already registered for the clinic that is suitable for both boys and girls from the ages of 8 to 18.
Aside from sharing his knowledge and vast experience during the clinic, Paul will cover dynamic warm-ups and mobility, the only running drills you will ever need to perform, acceleration and deceleration techniques, agility and spatial awareness.
“I am excited to be heading to Yamba as part of my northern NSW tour and very grateful to the Buccaneers for the invite, quite often the regional areas can get overlooked for this type of training, with many of our greatest sportspeople come from regional areas I am excited to get involved with the area moving forward.
