The Lower Clarence UHA lost a good friend and supporter last week but it pales into insignificance compared to the loss Maclean Hospital and the community it serves lost.

Domnic Bennett was an outstanding intensive care nurse who over the years converted to an outstanding general nurse manager, emergency nurse and mentor for many student and new graduate nurses.

Dominic had an infectious personality and very happy disposition that he passed on to whoever worked with him. He could also be the consumate professional nurse when the occasion called for it.

Domnic was as much a friend or mate as he was a colleague. His workmates will miss him greatly. 

He always helped the Auxilliary when he could. Only days before he passed away he contacted me to organize a presentation of a donation by the local car club.

I new Domnic long before I became the President of Lower Clarence UHA. I worked with him for many years and I am blessed to have known him. I witnessed him in action as a nurse many times. He was a special nurse, person, and a mate.
