Osprey RSL Day Club

It was certainly an interesting day last Friday with the silent auction and I think most people were able to pick up a super bargain or two.

I am certainly very happy with the lovely cream-colored casserole dish I won, and it does match my kitchen beautifully. Leanne and Paul did such a wonderful job collecting all the items donated by local supportive businesses. There were also beautiful artworks donated by June M, and attractive timber coasters created at the Men’s Shed and donated by David P. Well done to everyone. I am certain that everyone was able to bag a treasure or two. Fun time all around.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Sue and Keith. It was lovely to meet you both, but it was probably not the best day to see what we normally do at Osprey. It was flat out from going to whoa, and so noisy. We did deviate from our normal activities to allow for members to up their bids on the auction, so there was a lot of movement and excitement in the room. Normally the pace is just a little slower, conversation possible and the atmosphere a little calmer, and introductions possible.

Tom won the lucky door prize and chose the red wine…naturally.

June M won a $20 Coles voucher, and Judy chose a free day at Osprey.

Gillian worked the Pick-a-Box cleverly and also won a free day at Osprey.

Leanne and Bev D thanked all the volunteers for the wonderful work they do and presented each one with a delicious basket of homemade rocky road. It was nice to be appreciated, but believe me, we love what we do, and it is as rewarding for us as it is for our members. Thank you.

On that note I will leave you but remember if you wish to be a part of this happy group either as a volunteer or as a member, ring Leanne 0413 101 518 and she will get you started.
