On November 9 two members from Maclean 372 FRNSW Andrew Tom and Samuel Headon travelled to Sydney with supports to once again complete the gruelling Sydney Tower Eye climb for Motor Neurone Disease – 1504 steps, 98 floors and 20Kg of gear with better results from last years efforts.
Andrew walked away with a time of 17mins 24sec beating last years time by 2 seconds and placing 100 out of 633. Samuel who managed to not drop any gear this weekend managed an impressive time of 16mins and 52sec beating last years time by 1 min with a place of 82 out of 633 the pair also had good results with fundraising and donations with a total of $5500.
Once again they would like to thank everyone for there generous support to help 372 Maclean make a difference for the MND research facility.
A huge effort for the 633 registered climbers who raised a running total so far of $743,000.
After speaking with Andrew and Samuel they wanted to say that it was rewarding getting to the top and well worth the struggle.
The pair ran the stairs a little later this year than they had expected, due to an in house guest at their hotel who had a seizure. Whilst at breakfast the two both assisted with first aid until the ambulance arrived.
