It’s not ‘Schoolies’ but it is an opportunity to celebrate a year of third age enlightenment, Christmas and, well, just having a good time.

Clarence River University of the Third Age (CRU3A) is holding its end of year party in The Boardroom at Yamba Shores Tavern on Thursday December 5, commencing at 4.30pm.

The party’s theme is country and western – there’ll be a line dancing demonstration, too – and the food will be a country-style hot and cold buffet.

“Costumes are optional, but it will be great if people get into the spirit of things; there are prizes for best costumes, think Doris, Dolly, Shania, Kenny, Keith and Johnny, etcetera,” says function coordinator Sue Crowley.

“Crooz’n Broadway will provide the entertainment – some country and western, but mainly general rock and roll suitable for dancing – and there’s a free cocktail, mocktail or beer on arrival.”

Bookings and payment prior to the function are essential (by November 28).

Payment by direct deposit can be made to BSB 062 688, Acc No. 1006 4425.

Please use your name and Christmas as the reference.

“Tickets (members $30, guests $40) are selling fast, so we urge those intending to attend to buy their tickets pronto,” says Sue. “There’s a limit to how many we can fit in The Boardroom.”
