One of the most beloved traditions of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival each year, the Westlawn Jacaranda Royal Party Crowning Ceremony will take place from 7:30pm on Saturday, October 26.
Beneath the blossoming jacaranda trees in Grafton’s Market Square, the 2023 Jacaranda Royal Party will be asked to renounce their titles before the 2024 Jacaranda Royal Party will be officially introduced to the Clarence Valley community as they commence their respective journeys as proud representatives of the regional city and the time-honoured festival.
Last year, Toby Power made history as the first Jacaranda King to be crowned since 1935.
This year, Caleb Foster is also looking to make history as the first boy to nominate as a Junior Jacaranda candidate throughout the popular events 90-year history and will be the first to assume the title of Junior Jacaranda King should he receive the honour of being crowned.
Esteemed local business owner and member of the Matildas Alumni Jo Powell will be introduced as this year’s Guest of Honour, and Member for Clarence Richie Williamson will proudly host the ceremony.
The Westlawn Jacaranda Royal Party Crowning Ceremony is a free community event.
Attendees are welcome to bring picnic chairs and blankets, and there will also be a variety of food vendors and a Coopers Bar open during the evening.
