The AGM of Yamba Golf & Country Club was held on Sunday October 31 with a good number of members in attendance. The election for four positions of Director was conducted during the week preceding the meeting and those elected were: Paul Thompson, Andre Rizk, Andrew Kelly and Graham Niland. At the meeting, long serving President Tony Moran was re-elected for a further term.
Hole in one to Robert Gallagher
Saturday’s Stableford competition attracted 147 starters, with the course generally coming out on top.
One highlight of the day was the perfect shot played to the 12th hole by Robert Gallagher. Scoring an ACE eludes most golfers, and it is a very special occasion. Congratulations Robert.
Craig Penman took advantage of a late starting time to put together a great round of 41 points to easily win A Grade from Garry O’Connell and Mark Phillips who visited the countback when both scored 38. Best score of the day was recorded by Peter Brennan in B Grade with 42 points. David McQueen and David Carothers both scored 39 and were separated by the countback.
In C Grade, Brian Dwyer returned to the winner’s circle with 37 points on a c/b from Dan Nikas. Kevin Molloy took third place with 36 points.

Roger Cotton Midweek Stableford winner
Another good field of 155 played Stableford on Thursday and Roger Cotton had a day out to score 42 points and record a win from Dennis Blackburn (38) and Chris Sharp (37).
In A Grade, big hitting Paul Thompson was the winner with 40 points. Chris Holst and Des Hall both scored 37 points with Chris being successful in the c/b.
Martyn Tishler continued his run of good form to win B Grade with 40 points on a c/b from Kevin Moran. Sid Mills took third place with 37.

Tuesday’s Twilight competition saw “The Management” team record an outstanding 60 points to be the days top team. In the individual event Stephen Lamb won with 22 points from Tony Moran 21. Winner of Friday’s Chicken Run was Allan James.
