After Covid-19s impact on community events over the last few years, the annual Maclean Swap Meet was finally back in full swing at the Maclean Showground on Sunday.

Organiser of the event Bob Gray from the Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club Inc said that the event has been running for around 15 years – minus the last few.

“The weather is great and there’s about 50 stall holders here this year and everyone seems to be coming out of the woodwork,” Mr Gray said.

“We’ve got static displays including tractors, classic cars, and quite a few stationery engines as well as the stalls.

“I’d also like to thank the Maclean Lions Club for their assistance also on the day,” he said.

Maclean local, John Snape of John Snape Motors in Maclean said that he has been involved with the Swap Meets, since the event started.

“John Snape Motors has been going since the end of 1977, and I’ve been into historic vehicles for probably 40 years,” said Mr Snape.

“I’ve got about half a dozen vehicles and still acquiring them,” he said laughing.

Proceeds from the day went to the Maclean Lower Clarence United Hospital Auxiliary.
