Yamba roundabouts are nearly complete. The goal is to get the most disruptive works for the final roundabout on Shores Drive done before the school holidays bring an influx of visitors to the community.
Jamie Fleeting, Director of Civil and Works at Clarence Valley Council said, “at the start of this coming week major works will cause traffic disruptions that will impact Yamba Road at Shores Drive.”
“We are working hard to put the finishing touches to the roundabout and will be undertaking major asphalting works from 10 am on Sunday 20 June with the works scheduled for completion 5 pm Tuesday 22 June.”
“As a result, Shores Drive will be closed with detours via Treelands Drive. Yamba Road will have single lane access with traffic controllers in place and delays of up to 10 minutes may impact drivers. We recommend the community minimise the need to be driving along Yamba Road during this time.”
It’s going to be inconvenient, however, the contractors, (See Civil) will be working alongside Clarence Valley Council to minimise the impact on the community during this time. If you have a bicycle or the option to rideshare this will help by reducing the traffic on the road over this period.
