Sean McFarlane named North Coast Football’s Community Referee of the Year

Northern NSW Football has announced Maclean referee Sean McFarlane as North Coast Football’s Newcastle Permanent Referee of the Year for 2021.
Sean officiates matches for North Coast Football and has shown true dedication and passion for the game giving players, coaches and spectators the best experience possible.
A young referee, Sean has been refereeing in the Clarence and assisting with NPL for the last couple of seasons, developing into a capable referee that enjoys this aspect of football.
“Match officials have arguably the hardest job in sport,” NNSWF Community Football Manager Ross Hicks said.
“Sean has shown that he takes the match official role seriously and his dedication, passion and commitment contribute considerably to the positive football experience enjoyed by the players and
spectators of matches he officiates.”
Newcastle Permanent Coffs Harbour Branch Lending Manager Erica Farag congratulated Sean on becoming the recipient of the North Coast Football Newcastle Permanent Referee of the Year
Award.
“Our community football referees take on an important role of keeping players safe and creating a great experience for players and spectators each and every week,” Farag said.
“Newcastle Permanent would like to congratulate Sean for his generosity and valued contribution to the game.”
