Jake Mchutchison has won his first Singles crown in his fledgling bowls career when he accounted for a very gallant Chris Muldoon in a very entertaining Minor Singles final played before a large appreciative crowd last Sunday.
The final not only highlighted both Jakes & Chris obvious bowling prowess but the manner in which both players exhibited absolute sportsmanship to each other made this a very worthy finale to this year’s Minor Singles Championship.
The initial stages saw Jake take a handy 12 – 3 lead but to Chris Muldoon’s credit it did not faze him as he clawed his way back into the game to take a two-shot lead, before Jake started to find his range again to eventually pull away for a well-deserved 25 – 17 win to become this year’s champion.
Congratulations to Jake Mchutchison on becoming the 2022 Minor Singles winner but also a big congratulations must go to Chris Muldoon for his display of fine bowling during the final.
Our next championship event to occur is the Men’s Handicap Fours which kicks off on Saturday July 2 at 9am.
The Handicap Fours promises to be a very closely fought event as those teams nominated are all capable of taking this year’s title.
Just a reminder to Yamba men bowlers that the Zone 1 divisional Pennants will be stating on July 16, so please ensure you check the Pennant board to see if you have been selected for this event and let the Pennant selectors know if you have any upcoming unavailability dates during the Pennant season.
Please check the board for the proposed playing dates.
