Thursday March 10 was the first round of the Minor Singles this year.

This competition is open to affiliated club members who have not previously won a Minor Singles or a Major Singles. A small field of five players took part this year and this was due to players with illness and other commitments.

It was a very competitive final on March 17 between Gillian Wakefield and Leonie Lancaster played out over 20 ends. The score of 25 – 9 did not indicate the standard of play as 17 ends saw a score of only one or two shots.

Congratulations to Gillian, who won the match as a very deserving winner and hence the Minor Singles Champion for 2022.

The next competition is the Major Singles which will commence on Thursday March 24.
