Saturday was monthly medal day at Yamba Golf & Country Club and 160 golfers brought out their best games to attempt to win one of these prestigious medals.

Best round of the day, and a welcome return to form, saw Greg Starr take out B Grade with a scintillating nett 65. His 83 shots also won the gross voucher. Pete Griffiths was in second place with another great round of nett 67 and Andy King third with nett 69.

In A Grade, Will Woldseth continued his spectacular form to win the medal with nett 67 and the gross with three over par 75. Dylan Spagnolo and Robert Gallagher each scored nett 73 with Dylan taking second on a countback.

C Grade winner was Greg Robbs (Waratah) on a countback from Tristan Burn monthly medallist when both scored nett 68. Bruce Ginn was third with nett 70. Tristan won the gross with 89 shots.

NTP winners: 3^rd Dave Mills 10cm, 9^th Dave McGregor 149cm, 10^th Richard Beresford 156cm, 12^th Garry Payne 147cm and 17^th Col Lake 252cm.

Don Schlussler breaks handicap again

Midweek golf brings out some excellent scoring from participants and none did better than Don Schlussler on Thursday. Don plays early in the day, and he is very consistent. His score of 44 points was easily the best of the day and won C Grade from Chook Henwood $41 and Jan Dampney (40).

In A Grade, John Ashby and Bruce Lulham both scored 39 points. Countback saw John just in front. Des Hall was in third place with 38 points on a countback.

Paul Reid returned to the winning list in B Grade with 42 points followed by Kerry Henwood (38) and Luke Luchetti (37). NTP’s were won by: Fitted Golf Pro Shop 3^rd Alan Syle 117cm, Peter Campbell Physio 9^th Phil Meek 35cm, SeaFire 10^th Richard Beresford 292cm, Yamba Barber Shop 12^th Wayne Rice 101cm and Yamba Golf Sims 17^th Tim Stokes 263cm. Yamba Pro Shop Pro Pin winners were: 0-14 John Ashby 268cm and 15-54 Mick Florie 25cm. 35 with 13 on the back won a ball in the rundown.

Father’s Day Cup to Tana & Kevin Lowe

It was a beautiful day on Sunday at Yamba Golf & Country Club when 40 golfers contested the Father’s Day Cup event. Scoring was nothing short of phenomenal.

Winners of the Fourball Event was the team of Steve Eagleton & Rock Bailey with 49 points; runners up with 48 points were Wayne & Evan Rice. Brett Napier (Maclean) & Vicki Davis came third 47 points and received the Fitted Golf Pro Shop voucher on a countback from the Father’s Day Cup winners, Tana & Kevin Lowe. Tana had a great round of 41 points.

NTP winners were: SeaFire 3^rd Ladies – Sue Wilson; Men – Steve Eagleton; The Block 12^th Men – Warren Hughes; Yamba Golf Simulators 17^th Ladies – Kylie Lowe and Men – Tony Berger.

The ball rundown went to 43 points even.
