Fifteen of our members have just returned from Sydney where the use of their Gold Opel Cards was put to the test with extensive sightseeing using trams, trains and ferries during the day.
After dinner, each evening we visited some of the many Vivid locations around the city. Vivid is a great drawcard for the city. The lighting up of the Opera House and other buildings and the drone display at Circular Quay was brilliant, while the lightshow in the Botanical Gardens and on the clock tower at Central Railway was magical!
While some of us were away, 22 other members enjoyed lunch at the Grafton Golf Club. It has been some time since we last visited but the group won’t be long in returning.
The card group is constantly increasing in size. They hold their games at the GDSC most Wednesdays and seem able to find a new version of Canasta each week.
At our last general meeting, Michelle Farmer spoke about assisted living at home. Quite a few of our members sought appointments with her at Centrelink after the presentation. The meeting also featured the Induction to the club of three new members. Welcome Gay Cooper, Trish and Bob Turns.
Our next monthly meeting will be held at the Grafton District Services Club on Thursday June 15 and is our Mid-Year Luncheon. Those attending should arrive from 11.30am. Lunch will be served from noon.
Prospective members should contact Rita Johnson on 0458 473 156 or Paula Payne on 6642 8797.
